1991 First Indigent Care Conference held in Raleigh
1994 Indigent Care Conference held in Winston-Salem
1996 Indigent Care Conference held in Fayetteville
1997 Indigent Care Conference held in Lexington
· Exploratory meeting held at conference with those interested in creating a free clinic association
· Initial Board of Directors approved bylaws November 11, 1997
· North Carolina Indigent Care Association Inc., received its Articles of Incorporation on November 14, 1997
NCAFC:
1998 First NCICA Conference held in Asheville
· Twenty-eight free clinics and pharmacies joined during NCICA’s first membership drive
· Dr. Don Lucey elected first president of NCICA
· Start-up funding received from NCAPA, Kate B. Reynolds and the Janirve Foundation
· First financial support received from NC Medical Society
· Started DBA NCAFC, developed logo and marketing plan
1999 First NCAFC Conference held in Wilmington
· $306,750 distributed to members from NC Attorney General’s settlement fund
· First Executive Directors’ Retreat held at Caraway Conference Center

· NCAFC begins negotiations with FDA on sample medication regulation
