A Rousing Success -
“North Carolina Free Clinic Week and Open House 2008”
April 27 – May 3, 2008, Featuring Tuesday April 29th
As you may know, Cover the Uninsured Week brings together individuals and organizations in all 50 states and the District of Columbia in an annual campaign to demand that our nation's leaders find a solution for the more than 46 million Americans (including 1.3 million North Carolinians) living without health insurance.
The North Carolina Association of Free Clinics, in partnership with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, once again held a “Free Clinic Week and Statewide Open House” during Cover the Uninsured Week. The goal of the open house was to draw statewide attention to the role free clinics are playing in providing quality care to the uninsured.
NCAFC and The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC Foundation teamed up to provide the clinics with the resources to promote their clinics, and also coordinated a comprehensive, statewide public relations strategy to generate widespread media coverage.
